Bemis Joins The Conservation Alliance
We are excited to announce that we have joined The Conservation Alliance! The Conservation Alliance’s mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values.
The Conservation Alliance is a group of like-mind companies that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. They direct their funding to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitats and outdoor recreation. The Alliance was founded in 1989 by outdoor industry leaders REI, Patagonia, The North Face, and Kelty, who shared the goal of increasing outdoor industry support for conservation efforts. They now have more than 270 member companies and plan to disburse more than $2.2 million in 2022.
One of the key benefits of Bemis Membership in The Conservation Alliance is direct involvement in their grant funding program. Twice per year, the Conservation Alliance reviews grant proposals from grassroots conservation organizations across North America. They place 25 projects that best fit the funding criteria on a ballot and send them to member companies. As a member of The Conservation Alliance, Bemis Employees are able to vote to help determine which of the projects will ultimately receive funding. The proposals from this grant cycle include large conservation projects in Vermont, Portland OR, North Carolina, and many more!
